GPA calculator for a semester
Estimate semester GPA from course credits and letter grades. Edit the example U.S. 4.0 grade-point scale to match your school.
Estimates use only the rules you enter. The example grade-point scale is a U.S. college 4.0 model, not any school’s official policy or a local grading system.

How this GPA calculator works
For every GPA-bearing course, multiply credit hours by the grade’s point value. Add those products and divide by the total GPA-bearing credit hours. Pass/fail entries are excluded in this first version. A school may count them differently.
3 credits at A (4.0) and 4 credits at B (3.0): (3 × 4.0 + 4 × 3.0) ÷ (3 + 4) = 24 ÷ 7 = 3.4286, displayed as 3.43.
Enter a letter grade directly. A course percentage does not become a letter grade unless you supply the course’s cutoffs in the scenario planner. Check your registrar’s policy for repeats, withdrawals, transfer credits, and special grades.
Next: combine this semester with your existing credits, or explore grades before choosing a letter. See the GPA scale guide for more detail.
